I disappeared for a while from my blog…… because I was on vacation in Aruba! Yes the island they call: one happy island :-D. I hoped that I would have internet on vacation so I could update my blog every day. Unfortunately I didn’t have internet the whole vacation! So now being back in Holland I can finally share my adventures with you and of course what I was wearing during my trip. All the looks are coming up in the next couple of posts. My first Aruba post obviously shows the (in my opinion) best thing Aruba has to offer: the amazing beaches!! The vintage blouse I’m wearing is perfect to cover up your bikini when you’re heading towards the beach. It only takes one second to throw it off when making that fast run to the water haha.
Wearing: Top & pants = selfmade, shoes = Jeffrey Campbell, jewelry = vintage
It’s carnaval in the south of the Netherlands and when people saw me shooting this outfit, I guess they thought I was making pictures of my carnaval outfit hahah. But no, I’m wearing my own design again.. to wear on a daily basis 😛 I’m getting obsessed with making my own clothes because I’m finally able to get clothes exactly how I want them. I bought a lot of cool fabrics and you will see more results soon. If the outfit is an easy D(o)I(it)Y(ourself), I will show you how to make it yourself.
2014 resolutions… I don’t have them. I made a promise to myself a month ago and started immediately without waiting for the new year. Because when you want to improve something in your life, you should do it pronto! I want to be the best version of me possible. Healthy, positive, passionate, energetic, motivated, enthusiastic and loving. I will not compare myself with others any more, I will compare myself with the person I was yesterday, last week, last month and last year. I’ve been eating paleo for 4 months now and I will keep it up forever. It feels so good eating food that actually gives you energy and more happiness. I also started to train everyday, sometimes 3 hours. I’ve been following several yoga classes, body balance, pilates and tai chi classes. After every class I feel like a different person. It helps me get rid of stress, anxiety, anger and frustration. Besides that I’m finally becoming more flexible and active.
What are your resolutions? How are you planning to become a happier and satisfier person? Let’s make it an amazing year lovely people. Happy 2014 <3
When you’re following your inner voice, doors tend to eventually open for you, even if they mostly slam at first.
This blogpost I can finally proudly say that I’m wearing my own design!! Yes I made the whole outfit myself ┌( ಠ‿ಠ)┘. You will see a lot more of my designs soon. When I find more time I will show how I made it on a video. Will make my own jewellery too in the future. While watching and reading my post, I want you to remember this quote from Kelly Cutrone because I really want you to make all your dreams come true.
“I advise you to stop sharing your dreams with people who try to hold you back, even if they’re your parents. Because, if you’re the kind of person who senses there’s something out there for you beyond whatever it is you’re expected to do – if you want to be EXTRA-ordinary- you will not get there by hanging around a bunch of people who tell you you’re not extraordinary. Instead, you will probably become as ordinary as they expect you to be.”
I’m cheating on autumn with summer because I wanted to show you this amazing jumpsuit from OnePiece. It’s so comfortable and diverse that you can wear it outside, on the beach or sleep in it. At the moment I’m using the jumpsuit every time I want to relax on my sofa or my bed. OnePiece gave me an exclusive discount code (20%) for all my readers and it’s valid to 24th of november. Just typ in HERPHOENIX when you check out.
