This was part 1 of my amazing Ibiza trip. I can’t thank my lovely friend Melissa enough for letting me stay with her, making this adventure happen and for taking these cute pictures! Stay tuned for the next part.
First official Dutch post. I’m trying to readjust to the colder weather but cannot leave my short tops in the closet. For this reason I immediately got a cold the second day I arrived haha. Coming home feels like I never left, everything is still the same. Madrid feels like a vague memory. As if I had a crazy, long, intense and real dream last night and just woke up. It feels so long ago looking back at all the sunny, half naked, pictures, but it hasn’t even been a week, crazy!
It’s so much more difficult to make good pictures in Holland because of the weather. I prefer to only make pictures when there is sun but this makes the blogger job so much more difficult. I’m going to experiment some more with my blog. Tyson(the photographer and life companion who convinced me to start this blog in the first place) and I are currently in the creative brainstorm phase on how we are going to continue. We are thinking of making a lot of studio photography. But I also want to keep making pictures outside. Just want to be more crazy, out of the box (there is no box in my head!!). Well.. whatever is going to happen, it’s going to be full of our love for creativity and imagination. I want to thank you all so much for watching, reading and commenting on my blog. I have so much love for all of you. Stick with us because we’re in this amazing journey together<3<3
Special post today: Selin&Eline duo. We’re both wearing the same style vibe but you can truly see both of our personalities shining through. It’s always difficult to find out what looks best on you and what your own unique style is, your trademark. It’s always tempting to copy others instead of taking them as inspiration. Never ‘try’ to wear a certain style because you think it’s so nice in magazines or on others. Always make it your own. put your feeling and stamp on it. Clothes has to represent your identity. It’s the outer statement of your personality. Also never forget to look at your body. Find out what shapes and colours don’t look good on your body and don’t buy it, no matter how stylish and awesome it is. Dressing up is truly exercise for your creative mind. It’s all about experimenting.
I want to introduce to you the second me & her style. We’re both equally obsessed with clothes, pictures and everything in between. Selin always wears dazzling feminine clothes that always show off her perfect figure. I could not resist taking pictures of her and post her look to herphoenix because I know you would fall in love. She arrived today in Madrid to visit me and we have such a fantastic week planned. You will see more pictures of her & us together this week. We’re now getting dolled up, putting our hot girl disguises on, to go party!
An overload with pictures! I went to the park with my lovely photographer Efrain and shoot pictures at some of the amazing places that the Retiro has to offer. Couldn’t choose which pictures to remove so just posted all. (I’m a terrible decision maker in everything). A friend is coming to visit me tomorrow for a week, super excited. Last official week of the Madrid adventure, so I’m going to enjoy every last minute together with her. I’m going to make a lot of pictures to capture that last week!
The night-worker I am, is writing this post at the unbelievable time of 7.05 in the morning. This is not because I stand up so early but because I still have to sleep. I just came back from the club Pacha (danced my ass off) and decided to post now instead of tomorrow. As you obviously notice, I came back from my trip in Portugal!! It was amazing, but feels great to be back in Madrid. This inspiring city feels like my home. I have two weeks left until I move back to Holland so have to enjoy every last minute!!! About the look; Wearing vintage blouse & belt, primark shorts and shoes from random store. This outfit is actually waay to hot for this time of year in Madrid. It’s 34 degrees-> bikini weather so rushing to the swimming pool instantly in the morning!
Today was the last day of class at the Universidad de Europea de Madrid…. aaaah cannot believe how fast 4 months has gone. I finished all my exams and handed in all my portfolios. Now a month of holiday ahead of me before going back to Holland. As I already told you.., tomorrow is the day I leave to Portugal for a week! I have to leave in like 4 hours to the airport. So excited! But before I leave I wanted to post a new look. Wanted to show these levi shorts for a long time. Scored it for only 8 euro in this great vintage shop. I also posted a behind-the-scenes picture of me and my friend efrain who made all of my latest photo’s. The last picture is a personal one where you can see my first experience with riding on a longboard. It was amazing!!!! Would love to do that everyday in sunny weather in the park, just experience freedom and relaxation.
"There are thousands of fashion blogs that blog about the exact same thing as you. What makes your blog different and better!?"
I was talking to this guy I didn’t know at a party and my blog came up in the conversation. He asked me: ‘There are so many fashion blogs who blog about the exact same thing as you, what makes you different, what makes you special, what makes you better then the others’. This question really got me thinking. I was analysing myself and my blog to answer those questions. I came to the realization that I’m not different, more unique or better then other fashion blogs. But then, what’s wrong with that!? Why always the pressure to be better, to be unique, to be different. I think this pressure is common to a lot of other bloggers. The need to distinct yourself from others. To be special, to be original so you will get known.. But then if you try so hard to stand out, to be different you will lose track of yourself. It’s impossible to be yourself any more if you’re gonna focus on the need to be different.. And in the end.. being yourself that’s all that matters about a blog in my eyes. After doubting myself and thinking of strategies to become the best and most original blogger of them all I decided that I’m good enough how I am at this moment! I’m just me, Eline -> herPhoenix and I’m gonna stay that way. And if that means that I’m not the most special blogger out there, then I’m fine with that.
